LDM’s ‘traffic light’ steps to success...

Getting Started
Before you start please ensure you get a
provisional driving licence. If you intend to
practice without a professional instructor then
please ensure the car you drive is properly
insured for you to do so. Once the correct insurance is in place, then a provisional licence holder can practice under the supervision of a fully qualified driver - who must be at least 21 years of age and has held a licence for that class of car for 3 years or more. Before your eventual driving test, it is strongly advised that you see a professional driving instructor for some or all of the driving test sylabus.

Choosing an instructor
Instructors have 2 classifications: The first is an ADL (Approved Driving Instructor), this person will have obtained a green badge. This means that the badge holder is fully qualified and has completed all of the relevant training / qualifying exams. The 2nd is a PDI (Potential Driving Instructor), this classification covers a pink badge, as the badge holder has only completed some of the qualifying process.
